NC's first female doctor honored with marker

The Carolina Room and Charlotte Center City Partners will recognize the late Dr. Annie Alexander on December 20 by supporting the installation of a state historical marker in her honor. The NC Department of Cultural Resources will coordinate the installation of the new marker. The Carolina Room hosted a reception for Serena Chu who nominated Dr. Annie Alexander for the marker. Serena is a student in Pitt County, North Carolina and became interested in Dr. Annie while creating a project for NC History Day.

The installation will take place at 400 North Tryon Street at 2 p.m. and the reception will take place immediately following at the Library on 310 North Tryon.
