NOTE: North County Regional Library is now closed for renovations. Please read below for alternate locations for programs and services, or visit the online resources.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Library has identified North County Regional Library as next in line for exciting renovations that will allow us to serve you and Mecklenburg County in even better ways. We are bringing you these changes based on your feedback, and with funding from Mecklenburg County.
North County Regional Library is hosting a Renovation Celebration on Saturday, July 14, from 1-4pm. There will be face painting, a time capsule, a selfie booth, an ice cream truck, music and more!
On July 14, 2018 at 5pm., North County Regional Library will close to the public. We anticipate reopening in summer/fall 2019 with your refreshed library. In the meantime, we know that this closure may impact your use of the library. Please know that we are doing everything we can to bring you convenient library access through our other 19 locations, programs at alternate venue locations, and a growing digital collection that includes books, music, videos, and research resources.
We will continue to provide information to help you understand service options during the closure and keep you engaged with the library. Your patronage is vitally important to us, so please read on for important information about your library account, as well as other useful updates.
During the closure, we hope you will continue to use your library services by connecting with another branch for browsing, borrowing, classes/workshops, family storytimes, and the many other ways you use us, or by using our online services at cmlibrary.org.

Library Holds and Pick-ups
If you have North County Regional identified as your 'home' location, on July 5, Cornelius Library will automatically become the ‘home’ location on your account. Since Cornelius is the closest library to North County Regional, it has been identified as the interim holds pick-up location during renovation. We are doing this to make it easier because starting July 5, North County Regional will no longer receive or distribute reserved items. If you want to choose an alternate ‘home’ location for your holds pick-up location other than Cornelius, there are two ways you can do this:
- Request assistance from any Library staff at North County or any Charlotte Mecklenburg Library location; or
- Call the Library at 704-416-6000
Or, when you’re in Bibliocommons reserving an item, you can choose a location from the drop-down list -- but remember North County will be removed as an option as of July 5. (Note: changing this is in Bibliocommons will not permanently update the ‘home’ location in your account.)
Attending Family Storytimes
Family storytimes will continue at nearby community locations. Two family storytimes are held every Monday and Tuesday at Huntersville Arts & Culture Center (109 South Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078). Call 704-416-0555 for more information. Other family storytimes are offered at various times at our 19 other Library locations (visit cmlibrary.org and search the calendar).
Returning Books and Materials to the North County Book-drop
After July 14, North County Regional will no longer serve as a book drop location and the drop-off receptacle will be removed. You can drop off items at any of our other 19 Library locations.
