Donate Materials or Make a Gift in-Kind

Every year, businesses and individuals  help the Library through donations of goods and services. These include books, professional services, program supplies, food and beverage, historical records and more.

Services

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation welcomes donations of professional services like printing, graphic design, catering, media placement, and much more. Teams of volunteers sometimes identify and complete a project as a company-based  community service initiative. These pro bono services offset the cost of events and general operations, and the value is further deepened by the relationships that develop with individuals and corporations as a result of these partnerships.

If you would like to donate professional services, please contact Teleia White at 704-416-0803 or [email protected].

Other Goods

Collections of a historical nature (e.g., books, photographs, maps, correspondence, research papers and disks of data) may make great additions to the Library’s Robinson Spangler Carolina Room, which houses genealogical and historical materials focusing on Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and North Carolina. To learn more, please contact the Carolina Room.

If you would like to donate any high-value items (e.g., works of art), please contact Teleia White 704-416-0803 or [email protected].

Sponsorship Opportunities

We are proud to partner with the business and foundation community.  Corporate and foundation investors provide support for the Library’s strategic priorities while demonstrating a commitment to education, culture, and economic development.

To learn more about how your company can support the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation through foundation grants, corporate sponsorship, or employee volunteer opportunities, please contact Jenni Gaisbauer at 704-416-0801 or [email protected].

Tell Your Library Story

In today’s age of digital access to information, you may ask, "Why do we need libraries?" We asked that question, and Library users answered in this video: "What Does the Library Mean to You?"

Another way to answer that question is to visit a Charlotte Mecklenburg Library location. You will find a vibrant, thriving hub of information, with people from all walks of life coming together to access the Library's many free resources. The Library as a place to simply check out books is a thing of the past. The Library of today and tomorrow is so much more.

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library contributes to the quality of life in the community, upward mobility and the desirability of the Charlotte market as a place to relocate families and businesses. And it does so at a reasonable price — for every $1 invested, the Library returns $4.57 in direct benefits to the community. (Source: 2010 study conducted by the UNCC Urban Institute)
