ONE Access™

When libraries and schools work together, everyone wins.

In 2015 the Library, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte accepted the White House ConnectED Library Challenge, pledging to provide students with easily accessible information and educational resources.

Books that would make great gifts

Looking for gift ideas? Books always make a great choice. Dana Eure is the Library's Associate Director of Lifelong Learning, and she offered several librarian picks in a guest appearance on WCNC's "Charlotte Today" Monday, Nov. 23, 2015. Choose these titles as gifts, or check them out from the library!

New Tumblebook content for children

Tumblebook is is an online collection of animated, talking picture books. Our new content includes a wider range of reading levels and longer-format books that can serve children of all ages and reading abilities.

Digital inclusion gives all children a chance to be curious

19% of households in our community have no Internet connection at home. Students in households without on-line access are, increasingly, locked out of learning once school lets out. The Library's Director of Technology and Operations writes about the importance of digital inclusion and the steps we can take to give all children a chance to be curious, anytime they want.
