Independence Regional Library serves the diverse population of eastern Mecklenburg County. Located across from East Mecklenburg High School at the corner of Monroe Road and Conference Drive, the 18,700 sq. ft. library is large enough to supply many books, services, and activities while being small enough to maintain a friendly atmosphere. Ample parking is available for visitors.

Join us for an interactive poetry club, share and create original pieces, recite your favorite poetry, or simply enjoy the poetic works of others. This poetry club is held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
All are welcome! Each Wednesday from 11:15-12:00. Join this group to practice communicating in English with other adults in a relaxed group environment. This group meets after Storytime and your children are welcome!
One-on-one computer help with a technology tutor for a 1-hour session (2PM-3PM) on Wednesday afternoons. Topics covered include but are not limited to Microsoft Office, Internet, email, resumes, and online employment applications- By appointment only.
