Upcoming Events at Mountain Island
If you are between the ages of 5-11, increase your reading confidence, fluency and comprehension by reading aloud with a library volunteer during a 30-minute 1-on-1 session. Registration required.
Join us on the second and fourth Monday evenings of every month. Writers of all skill levels are encouraged to join the group to do some writing, share their work, meet other local writers, learn and exchange ideas. (Coffee included!)
Children and parents will participate in stories, songs and movement activities that build both gross and fine motor skills, which children need to develop in order to read and write. Stories included in this are high-energy. For ages 3-5; space is limited to 30 preschoolers.
Discover the world of science through books, hands-on educational activities, and experiments. Join us when we mix ingredients together to make a cake.
Toddlers build language skills, participate in music and movement activities, and discover the fun of books. Explore letters, sounds, and new words through stories and activities. For ages 18-35 months.
Bring your whole family out to enjoy stories, songs, and movement activities that support early literacy skill development and help foster a love of books and reading in your child. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate. For ages birth-5.
