As Equity Initiative Leader / Library Outreach Specialist, Pam McCarter has been with Charlotte Mecklenburg Library over 25 years. She takes pride in her work. Pam has worked around diverse communities for a long time and, during that time, she's learned untold stories are what make people think, live or behave differently. She doesn't believe in judging anyone without know their full story.

Pam is  genuinely passionate about uplifting the diverse communities of Mecklenburg County and she's her happiest when she can share knowledge or resources that help others reach a goal, engage interest, or just improve their days. In her spare time, she enjoys creative art or music spaces, enjoying special moments with family, especially her granddaughter,  cheering for the Los Angeles Lakers (she's been a Lakers fan since Magic Johnson and has a jersey to prove it), or you will find her watching BBC mysteries or Bollywood movies.
