You may begin using your new Virtual Card to access to all of Charlotte Mecklenburg Library's online resources right away.
After your virtual library card has been processed by staff, you will have a full-service account that can be used to access all digital materials and resources, to place holds and check out physical items from any branch.
What does the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library provide?

Access to all of our digital resources including the Digital Branch. Online books, magazines, databases, movies, music, online career/skills training, tutoring services and much more are free and available to all customers.

Physical materials such as books, DVDs, CDs and Wi-Fi hotspots (for a fee). The Library's collection is extensive, including large print materials and foreign language collections.

Access to our enhanced catalog, which allows you to place items on hold, renew materials, pay fines and manage your account.

Access to on-site services such as programs for adults, teens, children and families; special needs programs; local history and genealogy resources; makerspaces; proctoring; free Wi-Fi; and much more.
